19th Century French Walnut Louis XV Needlepoint Tapestry Armchair ~ Fauteuil is a masterwork of the sculptor's art, rendered in sumptuous indigenous walnut that is considered the finest furniture wood to be found in the Continent of Europe!  The elegant naturalistic form of the style is expressed in graceful, sinuous lines from the arched seatback crown to the scrolled feet with acanthus flourishes.  Roses and wildflowers are sculpted into the crown of the aforementioned seatback, with elegantly tailored armrests fitted with needlepointed pads for opulent comfort.  The apron around the generously sized seat has received the artist's touch as well, with flowers and amazing acanthus leaf flourishes.  Not to be outdone, the upholstery consists of hand-knotted needlepoint painstakingly crafted to depict a colorful explosion of earth tones in a floral and foliate bouquet on both the seatback and the seat.
