Pair 19th Century French Louis XVI Fruitwood Armchairs feature the oval seatbacks and seats that were in vogue during the waning years of the monarchy. Stately Greco-Romanesque architecture is the foundation for this style variation, with tapered and fluted legs supporting a solid apron around the entirety of which carvings of spiral ribbon motif have been fashioned directly into the sumptous wood. The same bordering treatment surrounds the oval seatback which is contoured for comfort. Connected by padded armrests which are carved with acanthus plumes, the chairs make a timeless statement.
