Early 19th Century Rustic Dutch Cabinet was hand-crafted using what would today be considered primitive tools, yet the skill and artistry required was impressive, having been handed down for many generations! Using old-growth indigenous oak, a sturdy casework was fashioned, then adorned with a crown and dentil molding on top, with a banner-style apron below for contrast. The hand-hewn door panels were framed with pegged mortise & tenon joinery, and the doors are hung with hand-forged fancy iron hinges. Full mortises create the three tiers of shelving, with slightly extended feet for a sturdy, stable and useful storage cabinet that was literally designed to last for centuries!
