19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Mahogany Bookcase is a splendid example of the genre, wherein a tailored, stately presence was achieved through minimalist architecture and embellishment, allowing the sheer natural beauty of the exotic imported mahogany to take center stage!  A tailored crown appears above the design, overlooking the two glazed upper doors, framed with simplistic molded detail with only the top shoulders rounded.  The same molding design appears on the lower cabinet, but with wooden panels.  Subtly mitered corners above and below soften the presence, with a rectilinear base molding and elegantly contoured feet providing support.  Doors open wide to reveal adjustable shelving above for display, and a voluminous cabinet below for lots of storage.  Truly a timeless design, the Louis Philippe style is known for its ability to blend with almost any decor!
