19th Century French Louis XVI Mahogany Bookcase was hand-crafted from exotic imported mahogany, and designed for a truly impressive office or library!  Fluted cornerposts and stiles coupled with fine molded detail encircle the entire design.  Ornamentation is abundant, consisting of cast bronze d'ore mounts that create an opulent effect.  Acanthus rosettes in larger rectangular form ~ as well as smaller round form, crossed bands, and elaborate key guards are a visual feast, but the focal points are the intricate foliate intertwined design on the crown, and the foliate spray with ribbon design on the base.  Together the bronze ornaments are like jewelry for the furniture.  Three doors provide easy access to the inside, fitted with multiple adjustable shelves making the interior configuration possibilities almost endless.  The lower quarter of the doors is covered with framed panels to allow more discreet storage inside, while the upper three quarters are fitted with brass mesh that allows one to view the interior contents above.  Six gracefully turned legs provide support.
