19th Century French Napoleon III Period Neoclassical Bookcase is a spectacular example of the finest in French cabinetry, all rendered in solid, sumptuous French walnut!  The neoclassical architecture of the piece is stunning, with bold molding accentuating the step-front design contributing to its amazing visual appeal from any angle!  On the bonnet appears a lovely angel in full relief set upon a background of scrolled foliates.  Directly underneath this artwork is the generously sized original beveled glazing of the door which affords a splendid view of anything housed within.  Underneath that are three drawers framed by fine molding, and carved with complementary foliates and flanked by visages of Norsemen on each side.  The entire facade is framed by pilasters that help define the design, with chamfered panels in abundance, even on the sides.
