19th Century French Whitewashed Directoire Bookcase with Wire Grille is a testament to the classical revival that was in full swing in France between the Revolution and the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte.  Featuring design elements influenced by ancient Greek and Egyptian architecture, the style exudes a tailored framework and timeless stature that has not only survived thousands of years, but shows no evidence of waning in popularity.  A fluted and flared crown appears on top, overlooking the staid design of the doors which are accented by embossed brass rosettes and fitted with lightweight wire grilles for a casual effect that widens the decorative opportunities for this work.  Embossed brass keyguards appear at the center, and tapered and fluted legs provide support.  A splendid whitewashed finish resulting in a ceruse coloration has been expertly applied by our professional in-house staff so your family can enjoy this magnificent beauty for generations to come!
