19th Century Napoleon III Period Empire Mahogany Bookcase ~ Bibliotheque with Brass Detail is a marvelous example of the celebration of all historical styles that occurred during the last monarchy of France!  Resurrecting the Directoire & Empire style influences, this stately piece features a classic architecture enhanced by the stepped-out cornerposts topped with turned urn finials, below which appear full length tapered columns with flutes filled with brass trim.  Brass trim also appears throughout the design, replacing what would typically be wooden molding.  Artistic brass inlay also appears on the crown in a stylized foliate design, and even encircling the aforementioned finials!  Generously sized glazed doors allow viewing the interior, fitted with its original adjustable shelves which provide numerous configurations allowing one to display pretty much anything.  Staid panels at the bottom of the doors allow some discreet storage as well.  The base mirrors the crown above and is supported by turned feet rimmed with brass trim.  The sheer natural beauty of the exotic imported mahogany is showcased in such a design creating visual excellence from all angles!
