PAIR Antique French Louis XV Bookcases ~ Bibliotheques is a rare find, indeed!  Hand-crafted from solid oak to last for generations, each has been masterfully sculpted with a stylized shell in a wreath pattern atop the gracefully arched crown, with the wreath flanked by floral and foliate carvings cascading towards the shoulders on each side.  Below the crowns appear two doors with the upper two thirds fitted with the original beveled glass, and the lower third scrolled panels that arch together to mirror the crown above, carved with complementary shell, floral and foliate motifs.  Even the corner posts have carved treatment above, leading the eye down to the carved & scrolled feet below set at 45 degree angles and flanking the scrolled apron.  The doors open wide to reveal multiple shelves that are fully adjustable thanks to the ingenious notched brackets in the corners, allowing you an almost infinite variety of space utilization schemes.
