19th Century French Chair in walnut from the Napoleon III Period is an excellent choice for an antique chair in any elegant setting, hand-crafted from select French walnut then ebonized and highlighted with bronze gilded ormolu, and upholstered in original tapestry fabric to last for generations!  The ebonized finish became popular during this period about the same time that Japanning from the Orient was in vogue.  In this French expression of style, there appears bold shell motifs on the crown of the seatback, as well as the apron of the seat.  Bronze beading has been used as a bordering all around the frame to accentuate its exceptional grace and form.  The muted earth tones in the floral tapestry fabric only add to the appeal!
