19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Armchair ~ Bergere is a great choice for occasional use anywhere in the home!  Four subtly scrolled cabriole legs carved with acanthus plumes provide support, with an apron encircled with spiral ribbon and punctuated with rosettes above the legs.  Caned seats and seat backs with wraparound arms provide lightweight comfort.  The spiral ribbon trim envelops the entire seatback with integral armrests, blending beautifully with the motif that encircles the apron.  The double-walled caning on the seatback allows it to be placed anywhere in the room.  Crafted from imported mahogany, it features its original ivory colored painted finish which has achieved a lovely patina and subtle distressed look that is so popular today!
