PAIR Meiji Period Japanese Imari Porcelain Vases (Meiji Period 1868-1912) feature octagonal shape, further moulded with crane birds decorated in underglaze white, amongst a profusely hand decorated background of flowering plants, stylised waves, and other textile motifs.  Vases molded with dragons and cranes are rare, especially in pairs.

This pair is of an uncommon hexagonal shape, and retain vivid coloration after well over a century!
