19th Century French Directoire Neoclassical Walnut Secretary Desk is a splendid ode to the tailored lines of ancient Greek and Roman architecture, rendered in the most revered indigenous European wood of all time ~ French Walnut.  The rectilinear form of the design is enhanced by the sheer natural beauty, color and grain of the wood, unencumbered by carved detail.  Fine molding and recessed panels define the exterior, with four hand-dovetailed drawers accessed with brass bale pulls complementing the brass leg tips below.  The slant-front opens to reveal a spacious leather top work surface with a full width cubby hole and no less than six tiny drawers making it the ideal choice as a laptop workstation!  The work surface is supported by concealed metal bar links for sturdiness and discreet design.
