19th Century French Louis XIV Liegoise Secretary - Bookcase is a masterwork of the cabinetmaker's art!  Boldly arched crown above the glazed upper tier features a pediment centered above an heraldic crest, suitable for placing a statue, religious item or objet d'art.  Intricately scrolled framework around the glazing ensures whatever you display receives suitable attention.  The upper tier includes glazing on the center stile as well as the mitered corners, a trademark of the master artisans of Liege.  The slant-front section folds down to create a desk and reveals hidden cubbies and drawers.  Two spacious drawers below, each lavishly embellished with hand-carved bas relief to match the slant front, provide copious storage.  The natural finish adds a level of casual elegance making it more appropriate for a wider variety of decors.  Scrolled & carved legs complete the look.
