19th Century French Renaissance Revival Double-Faced Walnut Executive Desk is a stunning work of the cabinetmaker's art!  Rendered from solid, sumptuous French walnut, it features exquisite grain and color across the entire plank top, which is trimmed all around in an elongated egg design punctuated by acanthus fronds.  Both sides of the desk are completely finished the same, with the "business" side drawers on one side only, even though the carvings and elaborate pierced key guards are present on both sides.  Eight barley twist columns with foliate carvings serve as the cornerposts which frame the four large drawers, and a tier of three drawers appears across the top below the writing surface, separated by an elaborate expression of Greek coin molded detail.  A repeating shell design graces the entire base molding around the entirety of both lower cabinets.  The drawer facades are all intricately carved with full relief foliate designs, and are centered with steel key guards that would appear to be heraldic crest designs.  Although the surface is plentiful enough for today's offices, there's an additional pull-out surface should more become necessary.  As it is fully finished all around, it's perfect for placement anywhere in the room, where it will immediately both captivate and command attention from all who enter!
