19th Century French Renaissance Writing Table ~ Petit Desk is a splendid example of fine hand-carved elegance reviving the glory of the era with bold, full relief carved detail pervasive throughout the design!  Sculpted from solid oak, it has a beveled and gadrooned top surface overlooking the apron carved on all four sides with neoclassical urn and foliate motifs, with mitered corners adorned with full relief busts of lions' heads.  Colonnade and acanthus flourish corbels trim the bottom of the apron, complete with turned pendant finials on all four corners, and the entire upper casework features a full width drawer, and is supported by four carved urn pediments.  The pediments in turn rest on a classic "H" structure below that is artfully carved with dolphin motifs for leg supports, connected with a finely carved trestle for stylish strength.
