Early 19th Century Country French Secretary was hand-crafted and hand-carved from solid oak in a diminutive size to make it perfect for a cozy niche, in the kitchen to store & perfect recipes, as a student desk, and much more! Cabriole legs support the casework which features a full size spacious drawer and a drop-down desk surface with a shelf inside. Hand-carved embellishments appear on the slant front panel, drawer facade, apron and cornerposts and include wildflower wreaths and sprays. Note the pegged mortise & tenon joinery and hand-chamfered panels. Lovingly sculpted using time-honored techniques and tools handed down from generation to generation!
