19th Century French Louis XVI Rosewood Marquetry Writing Table represents the epitome of French master artisanry of the late 19th century!  Using a base of indigenous walnut, the artistans carefully laid exotic rosewood veneer on the exterior, with solid rosewood being used as the legs & stretchers below.  Upon the veneering the amazing spectacle of marquetry was performed, with a multitude of different contrasting species of woods were used to create artwork that is a permanent part of the facade on top and around the apron.  Tapered & fluted legs are connected with double lyre stretchers centered with a turned finial, and the long side sports a full width drawer making this the ideal table or desk for any room in the home or office, while simultaneously representing a work of sculpture and craftsmanship that is worthy of royalty!
