19th Century Grand English Drop Leaf Gate Leg Dining Table is as versatile as they come!  Crafted from old-growth oak, it features a top 88 inches long but only two feet deep when folded.  This means it can tuck out of the way when not needed, or perhaps serve as a sofa table or hall table.  One leaf can be extended for a "D" shaped table top for serving during entertaining.  When both leaves are extended, the top is a huge oval that will seat as many as eight to ten, yet when folded down it reverts back to its space-saving footprint.  Because of the length of the table, two gate legs on each side swing out for support, so that when fully open, there are no less than eight legs providing extra-sturdy support!  The legs are finely turned with the gate legs being smaller versions of the main four legs on each corner.  Because of the gate leg design, aprons are not necessary on the leaves which provides much more knee room than most every other antique dining table!
