19th Century Grand Rustic Country French Banquet Table was envisioned, designed and hand-crafted by able rural artisans to last for several lifetimes!  Time-honored techniques passed down from generation to generation were employed, including pegged mortise & tenon joinery, solid plank construction, and a sturdy trestle shimmed into mortises of the massive column pedestals that provide support, each of which have been lovingly hand-carved to depict classical urn motifs.  The fluted feet spread out just enough to provide stable support, without protruding too much into the area where the chairs are placed around the table.  Generous overhangs allow guests or the heads of the household to sit at the ends of the tables, an unusual feature for tables of this era.  The lovely patina of the aged oak has been well-preserved, with a natural unfinished appearance creating a soft texture for your room.
