Rustic Dutch Solid Oak Trestle Dining Table displays the interesting techniques employed by craftsmen in Holland for centuries!  The solid plank top is affixed to the sturdy base via a linking system that is secure, but with the removal of dowels under the table the top can be easily removed making it far simpler to move into a home or building, especially if stairs are involved.  The heavy oak supports on each end are not only affixed to the top this way, they're also connected below with a single beam trestle, which is double-shimmed on each support for added rigidity.  The tradition was every two or three years to take off one's shoe and give the top of the shim a good whack, which kept things tight for another two or three years, and on and on!  Literally designed to last for centuries, it will make a great addition to your office or for casual dining in the home.
