Grand Rustic French Trestle Table in Stripped Oak

Grand Rustic French Trestle Table in Stripped Oak was custom made for a proud owner with the initials "SG", carved directly into the center of the table top!  Crafted from thick timbers of old-growth oak, it was designed to last for centuries.  The top timbers are over 3" thick, negating the necessity for an apron.  Support is provide by two massive turned pedestals formed into urn shapes, and resting on a massive footed "H" structure below that includes a huge timber serving as a stabilizing trestle.  We daresay that if modern furniture makers had this much wood they'd make three tables out of the wood used for this one example!  Stretching over eight feet in length, it will comfortably accommodate eight, with plenty of overhang in the form of a demilune shape on each end for the king and queen of the castle, both with plenty of legroom under the table.  Perfect for a conference table as well, it speaks to a bygone era when rustic craftsmanship had a goal of producing fine furniture that literally transcends time!
