Grand 19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Mirror is a magnificent rendering of the neoclassical style which continues to enjoy revivals every century since the ancient Greek civilization!  The framework around the mirror consists of three parts.  The base features tailored molding enhanced by a foliate-encrusted Greek coin motif, with plinth blocks on each corner adorned with acanthus plumes.  The plinths support the cornerposts which start with uplifted acanthus corbels, extending to a tapered and fluted column then topped with elegant Corinthian capitals.  On top the crown which displays a Greek wave motif over beaded molding is finished above with egg & dart trim.  Atop the columns appear pineapple finials which flank the show-stopping centerpiece positioned on the arched crown, which depicts a profusion of wildflowers, oak branches and olive branches, centered with a pair of lovebirds all to an incredible degree of detail.  The patinaed painted finish only enhances the relief work ensuring that this work of art will not only provide a lovely reflection of your room thanks to the generously sized mirror, but also create an unforgettable focal point to captivate the attention of all who enter the room!
