19th Century French Empire Style Giltwood Mirror features the essence of neoclassical architecture with a distinctive yet subtle style effect influenced by the genre first spawned during the reign of Napoleon.  A crown of foliates appears across the top with a curved flair to catch the eye.  The frame below the crown is encircled in its entirety with foliate molding, with the sides and top featuring a double tier of the molded detail, and one tier across the base.  The mirror shows some wonderful signs of age and has therefore been left alone.  Perfect for a bathroom, a small mantel or over a commode, such mirrors have been prized for centuries for their flair, visual presence, and the ability to reflect ambient light back into a room.
