Antique Framed Oil Painting of Village of Vlassenbroek is a charming work, with muted natural earth tones accentuated by the intricately detailed, patinaed gold frame.  The artist has illustrated the tranquilty of the hamlet nestled in today's northern Belgium between Brussels and the coast.  The village church takes prominence in the scene, nestled among the old-growth trees along the pathway.  One can just imagine the Sunday mornings, with villagers traveling in from their homes and farms to congregate and worship.  The scene is also set in early Fall, considered second only to Springtime!
