Antique Framed Oil Painting on Board is a splendid example of the classic Still Life with vibrant jewel toned spring flowers taking center stage. The artist has skillfully added a jardiniere in brass next to a vase in blue & white porcelain to create an interesting balance in the work, with a lavish purple velvet tablecloth dominating the lower left foreground. The background has been bathed in dark shadows to provide contrast for the brilliance of the floral colors. Survives in its original finely detailed gold frame.
