Pair Antique Framed Oil Paintings on Board by Herman Richir (1866-1942) feature lush landscapes that will add a touch of peaceful naturalistic harmony to any room.  Each survives in their oriignal frames.

Richir was a painter, pastelist, decorator, and designer of posters. He studied at the University of Brussels under J. Portaels, and received advice from and support from Charles Hermans.  Placing second for the Rome Prize in 1886, he preferred portraits, nudes, and genre scenes, and was popular among the affluent.  He was a teacher from 1900 to 1927 and periodically between the years 1906 and 1927 at the Academy in Brussels.  He also worked under the Hamner pseudonym.  His art can be found in the Museums in Brussels, Antwerp, and Namur.  He is also extensively mentioned in the Biography of National of the Royal Academy of Belgium, Part XXIX.
