Decker is an intriguing post-impressionist work of an opulent interior stairwell, displaying the fine wrought iron, wall paneling and frieze work over the doorway all in one composition.  Muted gray overtones add a muting effect to the grandeur.  Decker has used an unusual combination application techniques to achieve texture.  Survives in its original frame.
