Antique Water Color on Board by H. G. Ontrop (1880-1955) is a more traditional landscape by the prolific artist where he had captured the essence of mankind's attempt to harness the bounty of nature by creating a terraced farm plot at the foothills of some craggy rock features.  The mountainous effect at right is balanced by a broad swath of green tones at the left representing the meadows to be planted, creating a dichotomy of concept.
