Framed Oil Painting by Leon Barotholome (1865-1952) is a splendid architectural work of a Flemish cityscape, with special attention paid to the amazing detail in the buildings surrounding the square, a fixture of every city and village across northwestern Europe.  The artist hailed from Lyon, France, and was noted for his cityscapes.  Such squares were gathering places for a wide variety of community events, from Saturday market to festivals.  In this work, situated in its original frame, Barotholome has chosen to present two larger-than-life figures center stage, slightly out of scale for emphasis as per artistic license. Survives in its original beautifully detailed giltwood frame.
