Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by Adolphe Poot (1924 - 2006) is a splendid example of the artist's work, glorifying the majesty of nature by combining the lush greenery of a nearby forest with a tranquil pond and a hazy blue sky.  The forest envelopes the pond while the overarching trees provide shade and are reflected in the water.  Poot was known especially for his pastoral works, and this wonderful example survives in its original frame.
