Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by J. Horenbant (1863-1956) is one of our favorite choices from the last buying trip!  A definitive impressionistic work, the artist has skillfully captured a drizzly day in the open air market, a weekly fixture of towns and villages all across Europe, where farmers and fishermen bring their produce, meats, fish and other comestibles to participate in a weekly occurrence that has continued as a tradition for hundreds of years.  By illustrating the inclement weather in this way, the artist has also implied that the tradition is so strong, the events are attended just fine regardless of the conditions.  The hustle and bustle of acquiring a week's worth of foodstuffs also involves quite a bit of socializing in the days before smart phones and social media.  Survives in its original tailored giltwood frame.
