Mid-Century Oil on Board Painting by Father Andreas Bosteels (1901-1970) is a typically colorful and somewhat whimsical work by the painter who led a remarkable life.  Father Bosteels painted portraits and landscapes, primarily for his Monastical Order and those who were patrons of the Church.  He was a member of the Benedictine Order form by Saint Benedict of Nursia.  The order became widely known in Belgium for not only their monastic, solitary life of work and prayer, but under their creed of hospitality and charity, began the first medieval monastic breweries.
