Vintage Framed Oil Painting on Panel by W. M. Therhaag (1900-1958) is a spectacular portrayal of a countryside with a dirt road inviting one into the scene.  Note the ruts from wagon wheels in the dirt road.  Therhaag has used a practiced post-impressionist style to create the scene, with a clear division between earth and sky, and intriguing compositional elements like the pair of old-growth trees creating a domination of the left side, while the immediate foreground is portrayed in shadow, as if the artist set up under another large old tree to produce the work.  Exceptional blends of greens and tans work very well with the original frame.  Winand Maria Therhaag (1900-1958) was especially known for painting landscapes, and also beautiful mountain vistas.
