19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Canape with Mohair is the perfect expression of the breed, with architecture inspired by the masters of ancient Greece and Rome!  Eight tapered and fluted legs provide sturdy support to the finely carved apron adorned with both acanthus leaf and spiral ribbon bordering.  The armrest supports gracefully emanate from the apron atop plinths with acanthus rosettes, adorned with acanthus leaves leading to the padded armrests.  Across the top appears the same bordering as on the apron, flanked by scrollwork with floral sprays topped with pomegranite finials.  The neutral colored mohair is in serviceable condition but also ready to reupholster in your coordinating fabric.
As of this writing, the matching pair of armchairs are still available!  Click on Related Products below left.
