19th Century Framed Aubusson Tapestry was artfully hand-woven from subtly pastel colored wool, and depicts an encounter between a guard and horseman on the grounds of a spacious and exquisite estate set in the foothills of a distant mountain range. Such tapestries were designed to add softness to the room's texture, and to provide a barrier between the living space and cold, hard stone walls. Framed in carved giltwood, it can be more easily moved to other locations or places.
