Grand Flemish Wall Tapestry was woven on a large scale from wool with muted earth tones into a lavish landscape composition that is perfect for covering a large expanse of wall space. The bold border encircles the entire work with laurel bundle surrounded by spiraling acanthus plumes. The scene depicts a vantage point at the edge of a forest overlooking a beautiful river with bridge and just the hint of some dwellings in the distance. The lush foliage displayed includes an amazing variety of flora, all in various shades of greens and tans for a splendid, peaceful effect.
