19th Century French Hand-Painted Faience Jardiniere from Rouen is yet another charming example from a private collection glorifying the charming, colorful ceramic wonders from the fabled region.  Using local white clay, each design has been painstakingly and artfully painted in vibrant cobalt blues, copper reds, olive greens and saffron yellows with a whimsical, stylized design that will captivate the eyes.  Such vessels were used for condiments, gravies and sauces at a well-appointed French manoir.
