Pair Antique Delft Blue & White Transferware Lidded Vases

Pair Antique Delft Blue & White Transferware Lidded Vases is a splendid example of Old World craftsmanship where Dutch ceramicists took advantage of the high demand for quality porcelain products from the Orient beginning as early as the 18th century.  Rich cobalt blue contrasts with the white porcelain for a classic effect, with intricate designs creating four "sides" on each vase.  Each is also topped with its original foo dog lid with the classic Dutch parapet form.  Interestingly, each was produced by the same company, but at different times, suggesting that one or both were gifts given at separate intervals.  Amazingly, the patterns are virtually identical and both are in exceptional condition!
