19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut QUEEN Bed is a stunning testament to the extraodinary skills of the furniture crafters during the waning years of the Belle Epoque that helped make Paris the center for the finest furniture ~ most experts agree ~ that the world has ever known!  Starting with hand-select sumptuous French walnut, the neoclassical architecture of the piece took shape, with a rectilinear design accented by a centered raised arch on the headboard.  Bold molding details pervade the design, tying into the rails on the sides and continuing around the footboard to encircle the work.  Raised panels in several configurations were employed, as well as fluting on the cornerposts designed to resemble bundles of wheat made more realistic by the bronze bands attached to the wood.  Bronze acanthus finials, horizontal ornaments, and extraordinary centerpieces make the footboard truly special to behold, with intricate detail depicting floral garlands, ribbon, and a suspended bouquet.  The headboard does not disappoint, with a horizontal adornment appearing below the arch, and the arch festooned with a stunning olive and laurel wreath with sprays.  Pomegranate finials on the cornerposts complete the adornment and combine with the rest of the work to create a definitive example of the neoclassical revival from this poignant period in French history.
