Just returning from our latest antique buying trip ~ where we found amazing treasures for our online antique store as well as our Dallas, Texas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana showrooms ~ there is now a multitude of antique furniture, antique accessories, antique lighting, antique art, mirrors and much more being loaded into our future containers. (More details of our buying trip to come later in future blogs) We have already shipped 18 containers full of antiques this year, and anticipate reaching more then 20 antique shipments before year’s end!
In our antique stores we are always busy redesigning antique vignettes, painting walls and decorating with our newest arrivals. This is such a special time of the year! We also like to share inspirations for seasonal decorating. Culinary antiques, antique accessories and antique paintings all take center stage, beautifully blended with autumn colors.
We hope you are inspired to showcase your antique collection, whether rustic or elegant, with elements of the fall harvest. For example, creating inspired centerpieces for a pleasing look in the entryway, or atop an antique buffet as a focal point in your dining room, can be most dramatic.
Some quick tips for seasonal tablescapes:
- Group your collection in the center, arranging it in various heights.
- Fill containers with berries, mums and foliage.
- Place fruit, pumpkins and gourds at the base of the grouping.
- Keep in mind the dining table centerpiece shouldn’t be taller then 14 inches or so.

The art of winemaking has been revered by countless ancient civilizations. In early mythology, the subject was so worshipped that Bacchus, the god of wine and frivolity, was wondrously conceived. The grateful Romans and Greeks were so enamored by the elixir that in their imagination, only the gods could have bestowed such potions upon us. Today, we do not build antique altars to the deity of such libations, instead erect wine rooms, caves and cellars to house and display prestigious vintages derived from precious grapes of the harvest.
