19th Century French Louis XVI Cabinet ~ Buffet is an excellent example of neoclassical architecture, featuring a step-front center section and three cabinet doors positioned under a boldly molded top edge and cornice which features olive sprays and ribbon separated by rosettes, all in fine relief.  The center door captivates one's attention with sculpted horn, carquois de fleche and pan flute intertwined with a floral wreath, ribbon and finished with a cluster of grapes.  Four rosettes define the multi-tiered panel framed by spiral ribbon molding.  Bell flowers are carved on the center section's cornerposts, with the side cabinets each adorned with complementary floral wreath with ribbon, a large oval rosette, and foliate scrollwork.  A fluted apron punctuated by rosettes matching those on the cornice with carved legs providing support finishes the design.  Doors open to reveal copious storage with adjustable shelving.  Detailed cast brass key guards complete the look.  Perfect for discreet storage in any room, especially for prized books.
