Antique Country French Confiturier ~ Cabinet is an intriguing variation that is quite uncommon!  Hand-crafted from solid oak, it features a tall architecture with what appears to be a drawer at the top, but is actually a hatch lid that opens up via horizontal hinges, maximizing storage capability and accessibility.  The "drawer" facade is finely carved with shell, foliate and bordering, then fitted with a cast brass pull.  The lower cabinet is also oversized for its type, with a beautifully carved shell, floral and foliate motifs on a finely bordered framework adorned with cross hatching and acanthus flourishes.  The door is mounted on exterior brass hinges to open wide for easy access to the spacious cabinet within, fitted with a single adjustable shelf.  The door also sports a cast brass key guard.  Scrolled legs with escargot feet complete the look.
