Pair Mid-19th Century Rustic Gothic Raised Cabinets were designed for a masculine retreat within a lavish manoir to provide symmetry to a wall.  Probably intended to flank a smaller fireplace, each is a mirror image of the other, except for the subject of the principal carvings on the door panels which depict the lord one one and the lady on the other.  The cabinet doors are also slightly offset, with another carved panel adjacent to the door lavished with sculpted detail, allowing one to tuck items behind the panel so they are not apparent even with the door open.  Doors are mounted left opening and right opening via forged iron strap hinges complemented by the teardrop bale pulls mounted on shield guards, with forged metal rosettes also adorning the front facades.  Sculpted corbels flank the opening of the raised area beneath each cabinet, with a full width shelf below for additional display added to the solid plank tops of each piece.  The sides, should they be visible in your floor plan, are adorned with pairs of linenfold panes to complete the package.  Each is crafted from dense, old-growth oak to literally last for centuries!
