18th Century Rustic Spanish Colonial Table was crafted entirely from seasoned, old-growth oak planks and timbers by talented rural artisans! The thick plank top is reinforced on each end with rails, and the top is affixed to the framework below with a transverse pair of rails that are mortised and pegged into the tops of the heavy timber legs. To add even more rigidity to the design, two crosspieces with a little carved embellishment appear at the top, with four stretchers forming a perimeter around the bottom, all rendered with pegged mortise & tenon joinery. The aforementioned legs are also carved with a stylized urn form for added visual appeal. Such tables could serve anywhere in a grand home, providing a lasting, durable surface for just about any purpose. The patina of centuries of use only adds to the historical charm of this instant family heirloom!
