19th Century French Napoleon III Period Marble Top Mahogany Center Table is an amazing example of mid-19th century master craftsmanship!  Utilizing exotic imported mahogany, the artisans created an undulating, multi-contoured apron as a framework to support the exquisite Carrara marble top that was contoured and hand-beveled to precisely match the perimeter of the apron below.  The contrast between the fabled Italian marble and the rich rainforest Central American wood makes an exquisite combination.  Support is provided by an astounding display of the artisans' handiwork, with turnings and carvings atop the turnings the create a feast for the eyes, not the least of which is enhanced by the artfully scrolled and hand-embellished tripod legs which attach to the lower extremity.  Underneath is a turned pendant cap for a nice finishing touch.  Truly a piece that excels in its intended purpose of impressing all who enter one's dwelling!
