19th century French Napoleon III period oval center table is a masterpiece of naturalistic beauty! Artistically sculpted from dense, old-growth indigenous oak, it features a dupont bevel on the top edge overlooking an apron carved around its entirety with four heraldic crests and foliates in relief. The base consists of a massive urn form with acanthus plume carvings supported by four boldly carved legs featuring creatures created by the sculptor that depict dogs' heads with the mane of a male lion, presiding over a bounty of fruit cascading down the scrollwork of the legs, enhanced with acanthus flourishes and paw feet. Originally a dining table with leaves, it has been joined together to create a splendid center table for your family to enjoy for generations!
