18th Century Grand Country French Buffet a Deux Corps is a superlative example of the splendor and artisanry of the humble rural craftsmen of northern France during the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI!  Utilizing indigenous old-growth oak, the cabinetmakers selected seasoned, finely grained wood to create an amazingly crafted casework, with three cabinet doors above, as many below, and a trio of finely decorated drawers.  The storage capacity of this beauty is astounding.  However, the carved detailing that appears from the boldly molded crown above all the way to the scrolled apron below, literally steals the show!  Stylized wildflowers, foliates, rosettes and fleurs de lys appear in abundance and help adorn the elaborately scrolled raised & recessed door panels and drawer facades.  As an added touch, the intricate steel key guards and hinges are truly special.  Even the three original keys are works of art unto themselves.  Pegged mortise & tenon construction all around including the back side make this a piece that your family will enjoy for generations!
