18th Century Country French Louis XIII Armoire is a classic example of hand-crafted traditional construction using techniques handed down for centuries!  Crafted in the Louis XIII style from solid planks and timbers of old-growth oak, it was designed with a classical rectilinear casework topped with a finely contoured crown.  Five panels on each side are complemented by three panels on each door.  The topmost panel displays a graceful arched contour, and both doors are hung with steel barrel hinges, complemented by steel key guards at the center.  The doors open wide to reveal hanging storage within.  Note the pegged mortise & tenon construction and hand-hewn wood, all lovingly and painstakingly crafted with rudimentary tools combined with a lot of skilled workmanship to result in an instant family heirloom that can be enjoyed by generation after generation!  A new high-quality interior lockwork mechanism has been installed so the piece can soldier on for many more decades to come.
