Early 19th Century Country French Stripped Oak Armoire is a masterpiece of rural artisanry, designed with architecture rooted in ancient Greek and Roman classicism.  The bold chapeau de gendarme cornice is centered with an heraldic crest, and the corners are partially rounded with the dentil molding across the entire crown complementing the rounded, fluted cornerposts.  Finely molded door panels follow a tailored look, and external hinges allow the doors to yawn open about 180 degrees, making it a perfect choice to house a big flat panel TV!  Considered essential to any respectable household, such pieces held a place of honor in the home, and housed anything from clothing to linens to items one would relegate to a closet, since the design predates the closet by a century or two!  Rendered in dense, old-growth indigenous oak to last for several lifetimes!
